High Fidelity "Four o'Clock" with the exciting, ethnically-inspired group Indie is
from the band's debut CD "Attention". The press release, which doesn't
offer much information about the band, suggests "cranking up the volume"
- excellent advice, which we hereby pass on to you.
Indie attention A melting pot of numerous music styles, held together with massive breakbeats and funky rythms. That's what you'll find on Indie's debut-Cd. A well-produced Cd with catchy melodies and hooklines that should give this album a good chance of airplay.
Press release
If just one of these songs catches your interest, there is a good chance that this CD will become one of your favorites after you have heard it a few times. Nothing on this album is what it it sounds like off-hand. It is a melting pot of ethnic and western inspirations put together in it's own way. There are lyrics that are simultaniously intimate, outgoing and poetic. There are traditional acoustic instruments mixed with electronically overproduced instruments. There are fat, pulsating beats with elegant melodic phrases and catchy hook lines. There is, all in all, so many layers in both music, lyrics and production that you can keep listening to it and hear something new. Try and turn up the volume! A lot could be said about Indie's first album "Attention", but try and listen for yourself. We're certain you will agree with one thing - Indie has their own style, and they do it well. We are definitely talking about more than "run of the mill" music - this is original. Listen to the CD and give yourself time to appriciate that it doesn't sound like everything else on the market, and you will be an experience richer. Sincerely, Hans Jørn Henriksen
Tuesday September 14 1999 Danish pop/rock Indie: Attention "Attention" is the title of Indies debut CD, and you can take it at its word, because this is an album that deserves attention. It is an original and talented mix of electronic and traditional instruments, so beautifully put together that it is at times difficult to tell what is what in the often very complex sound, tied together with Lise Meidells precise vocals. Another of the albums strong points is the exciting mix of styles, blended in a well-proportioned web of unusual details. But the whole way through it is the melody that has priority, and in most cases it catches you instantly. "Attention" is in every way a forward-moving album that grows each time you hear it - because of its complexity. Other places where you can find Indie http://www.mp3.com/indie |
